Breastfeeding Support & Tongue-Tie Support
Transparency is important to me.
As an IBCLC certified lactation consultant, I am recognized by health insurance providers.
On this page, you will find an overview of the costs as well as information on possible health insurance benefits.
Breastfeeding support
Coverage by basic insurance
Basic insurance covers three breastfeeding consultations in full throughout the entire breastfeeding period.
Important to know:
-
Home visits are billed separately.
-
If necessary, an attempt can be made to bill further consultations through health insurance; a medical prescription is required for this.
Additional consultations
If a consultation cannot be billed through basic insurance, the following rate applies:
CHF 106.25 per consultation
Duration: 60–90 minutes

in your own home
Home visits
I offer home visits in the following cantons:
- Lucerne
- Zug
- Schwyz
Costs: up to 20 km CHF 20.- from 20 km CHF 30.-
In exceptional cases, a consultation can also take place at my group practice in Küssnacht am Rigi .
Phone or video consultation
In certain situations, a phone or video-based consultation can be useful.
Phone consultation costs: CHF 1.90 per minute
Video consultation costs: CHF 2.30 per minute
These services are not covered by health insurance.
Low-level laser
If needed, laser treatment can be used as support (e.g., for sore nipples).
Duration: a few minutes
Cost: CHF 25 per 15 minutes
This service can be billed as part of a breastfeeding consultation.
Tongue-tie support
Process & Costs
The initial assessment takes place during a breastfeeding consultation.
If the suspicion of a short tongue-tie is confirmed, I will guide you through the entire process in a structured way.
This includes:
-
preparation for a possible frenotomy
-
Aftercare and exercises
-
Wound checks
-
Breastfeeding management support
-
Close communication via phone, text, or video
Support usually takes place over 4 to 6 weeks.
CHF 85 per 30 minutes
Phone and video support are already included during this time.
The home visit and aftercare following a frenotomy are not covered by health insurance. Alternatively, aftercare visits can be billed as breastfeeding consultations, in which case the home visit will be billed separately.
