Breastfeeding consultation in Lucerne, Zug, and Schwyz
Breastfeeding support, before and after birth
Breastfeeding should feel right. If it doesn't, it's worth taking a closer look. Because for many, breastfeeding doesn't start out calm and natural. Sometimes questions arise – or pain, uncertainty, and conflicting advice.
Perhaps you're wondering:
- Why does it hurt so much?
- Is my baby getting enough to drink?
- Why does my baby keep slipping off the breast?
- Do I need a breast pump?
This is where I come in – providing individual, professional, and non-judgmental support. As an IBCLC lactation consultant, I support you at home in Lucerne, Zug, and Schwyz, or in exceptional cases at the group practice in Küssnacht am Rigi.
Before birth
Breastfeeding needs preparation too
Good preparation creates confidence – especially when there are specific circumstances.
I support you with:
-
Uncertainties about starting breastfeeding
-
Breastfeeding preparation consultations
-
Individual breastfeeding planning
-
Colostrum harvesting during pregnancy
-
Preparation for a planned C-section
Special situations where colostrum harvesting during pregnancy is beneficial:
-
Gestational diabetes
-
Type I or II diabetes
-
Poor previous breastfeeding experiences
-
After breast surgery
-
Expected cleft lip and palate
-
Neurological or genetic conditions
-
Reduced fetal growth

Breastfeeding doesn't just start after birth.
A conscious start gives you confidence.

After birth
When questions or difficulties arise
After birth, many things change and new skills need to be learned – including breastfeeding.
I support you with:
-
Painful or sore nipples
-
Blocked ducts or mastitis
-
Oversupply or low milk supply
-
Breastfeeding after a C-section
- Oral restrictions – e.g. Tongue tie
-
Premature babies
-
Breastfeeding twins
-
Pumping and working & breastfeeding
-
Introducing solid foods
-
Breastfeeding during illness
-
Weaning
-
Breastfeeding during a new pregnancy
Sometimes the cause of persistent pain or difficulties is an oral restriction, such as a tongue tie. In these cases, I support you with assessment, preparation, and aftercare – in collaboration with specialized professionals. Breastfeeding should not feel like a constant burden.
When additional support is helpful
In certain situations – such as premature birth, building milk supply, or sore nipples – a professional breast pump can be helpful.
I provide individual advice on its use and, if needed, support you in using a hospital-grade breast pump.
I am happy to support you
Good to know
Breastfeeding is not a competition.
It is a journey.
Costs & health insurance
Transparency is important to me – I will clearly inform you about the process and costs in advance. As an IBCLC with a ZSR number, three breastfeeding consultations are covered by basic insurance.
Further consultations can be billed with a doctor's prescription.
Home visits and additional services are charged according to the standard rate.
